CIR Congratulates Drs. Ruth Karron and Anna Durbin at the CIR Directors Celebration
For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, all teams from the Center for Immunization Research gathered together to celebrate 2 milestones: Dr. Anna Durbin’s appointment to CIR director and Dr. Ruth Karron’s 14-year tenure as the center’s director.
To commemorate the passing of the torch, CIR members congregated on the Hampton House patio and heard remarks from Dave Peters, Edgar Berman Chair in International Health and Andrea Ruff, the Global Disease Epidemiology and Control program director. The center’s current and former directors, Anna Durbin and Ruth Karron (respectively) and faculty member Kawsar Talaat also spoke at the gathering. It was a great opportunity for new employees to meet other CIR members not in their immediate circle, and to get to know each other a little better IRL.
