COVID-19 Team

COVID-19 Team

In the wake of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Center has reconfigured both adult studies teams (FIRE and MVAC) to form the COVID Team, whose focus is to conduct Phase 3 clinical research studies for COVID-19 vaccine candidates.  The team is comprised of the both principal investigators from the FIRE and MVAC teams as well as their staff.  The COVID team has enrolled participants into the Pfizer/BioNTech phase 3 investigational vaccine trial and is conducting follow up visits for those enrolled, as well as recruiting for the Astra Zeneca phase 3 investigational vaccine trial.  We hope that these efforts to identify safe and effective vaccines for the prevention of COVID-19 will help us all return normal life activities as quickly and as safely as possible.
