ETEC Challenge Study (ETVAX CIR 357)

Inpatient study enrolling adults 18-50 years old.

This study is about finding a vaccine to prevent children and travelers from getting sick from ETEC bacteria.  We want to learn about how many people will get diarrhea after this dose of wild type enterotoxigenic E. coli  (ETEC). It will then be used in a vaccine study.

The study is:

  • 6 months long

  • enrolling people 18-50 years old

  • includes 1-2 screening visits

  • one 10-day inpatient stay

  • 1 follow up visit

  • 1 follow up phone call
